PROGRAMS SPONSORED BY THE PTSO:
Beautification Committee: Needs adult volunteers to help with our two annual beautification days as well as working independently on special one time projects. Very flexible. This is an established committee with leadership needing more committee members.
BRAVO: A student reward program. Students who earn a 3.0 GPA in any of the first 3 grading periods earn a treat.
Fundraising Committee: Works with the PTSO to raise funds for our large scale needs like technology. Flexible hours. Will work with a small committee to send letters into the community requesting donations and coordinate school wide giving campaign.
Hospitality Committee: Group of parents who provide special treats for our staff throughout the year. They kick-off the year with a special breakfast for our educators. During the holidays they host a cookie party. They specialize in showing our staff how much we appreciate their great work.
Lunch Volunteers: There are various times during the school year when the PTSO must man a table in the commons during lunch. We may be selling planners or Powder Puff shirts or passing out treats for our Bravo! program. During these times, we often need several Moms or Dads to help at our table. The scheduling is from 11:30 to about 2:00. If you could be available to help us periodically, we can put you on a list of people to call upon (with notice). It's a great way to stay in the know about what's happening at school and meet other parents.
Senior Activities: Needs committee members to help with the planning of senior activities. This is a great committee assignment for parents of Freshmen and Sophomores because it gives you great insights into what happens during Senior year. It's a very flexible assignment with a very well established calendar of events and it's FUN!
Spirit Wear Committee: Will coordinate the sale of NWHS spirit wear to students and parents. Will monitor on-line sales and fulfill orders. Very flexible hours and can work with a small committee.
Welcome Committee: Our newly formed Welcome Committee is looking for committee members to help welcome new families to NWHS. We have a few events during the year and would like to have parents who can come and help us meet and greet newcomers. At other times, there may be requests to call parents of new students or serve as a point of contact. As our enrollment grows, we are welcoming new families each week.
